Learn How To Read Guitar Tabs

The guitar is a very popular instrument. It is a stringed instrument with frets and is used commonly for rhythms and melody lines simply by plucking or the strum of the strings. This is a very old instrument and is very common in modern music. Everybody seems to have their own personal preference for the guitar. Some like acoustic, others like electric, and even others like synthesized.

Listening to guitar music is really relaxing. However, for others, playing it is the best. Playing the guitar may seem difficult to many. For beginners in music, learning any instrument can seem like a very hard task to complete that takes hours. There are, however, lots of available resources out there that can show you how to play the guitar through tutorials and such. It is really pretty easy to do nowadays.

One of the easiest ways to start playing the guitar is to learn how to read guitar tabs. These are basically tabs of guitar strings with numbers telling you which fret to hold down on that string. A different fret makes a different pitch for the string. These tabs are really easy to read and not hard to learn at all.

As with everything, tabs do have their drawbacks. One of the main drawbacks is that you are not reading music in a musical theory sort of way. You're learning the guitar notes through numbers and frets instead of notes. The best way to learn the guitar is through the real staff music notation. This way you can transfer your knowledge of notes and music to any other western instrument.

Playing with tab music at first start, however, is the fastest way. All you need to do is read the tabs and you can start playing the guitar. It's the quick way to start playing music. However, you probably won't have any idea what you're playing other than the way it sounds.
