" Coldplay " : Live 2003 for Piano, Voice and Guitar

A subliminal message is a signal or a message recorded in a video or audio beneath the original text. Such subliminal messages have no influence on our conscious mind but affect our subconscious. The subconscious may then influence our conscious actions to act in according to the message embedded within the message. Some argue that effects of subliminal messages are rather insignificant while others argue that they are unfair and potentially harmful, especially if abused

These days subliminal messages are very much popular in music industry. Subliminal messages in music have been given a name of 'Backward Messages' or more commonly 'Backward Masking'. It is very easy to record backward messages on existing sounds or subliminal messages in music with the help of the computer on simply a click of mouse. An interesting thing about subliminal messages in music is that they can easily be disguised with other natural or unnatural form of sounds such as blowing wind, traffic noise, rain falling or even water crashing. Since subliminal messages in music have been discovered many controversial examples can be found.

In the late 60's a Beatles album was supposedly contained one example of a subliminal messages in music, a suggestion that Paul McCartney had died. The controversy raged extensively when some religious groups claimed that Satan was possessing the singers and causing them to insert subliminal messages in music.

Another popular example of subliminal messages in music is the popular song Stairway to Heaven" by Led Zeppelin. This song contained not one but many subliminal messages. "Play backwards. Hear words sung", is the message you hear at the very end of the song. Amazingly, if you play the song backward you will find many satanic related messages. For example, somewhere in the middle of the song it says, "It's my sweet Satan. The one whose little path would make me sad whose power is fake."

Subliminal message in music are mostly popular amongst rock and electronic bands. There are many thousands of albums containing subliminal messages. Some bands do this through hidden means while some of them do it openly. Pitcher Shifter, known for incorporating technology in their music, has been openly making use of subliminal messages in their music for years. In their album Infotainment released in 1996 they included two tracks and went as far as to include a warning message at the start of its first track that a subliminal message is about to be played.

On the other hand, the band Judas Priest was taken to court for using subliminal messages in their songs which believed to have urged the listeners to commit suicide. The case was discharged and they were never proven to have used these techniques.

Josie and the pussycats, a movie released in year 2001, It focuses on the concept of subliminal messages in music and effects on teen minds when constantly listened to subliminal music but also assures viewer that the spell can be broken and one can return to a normal life.

Subliminal messages in videos have been proven to affect sales of condiments at the movie theatres, and in 2006 Derren Brown, and English illusionist, did an experiment which showed how subliminal messages could cause such dramatic effects as to cause 65% of people who had watched a movie to have completely forgotten the plot.

Subliminal messages in music do not necessarily need to be all bad. If one was to listen to a subliminal message in music designed to help them lose weight, studies indicate that they would, more than likely, be able to lose weight dramatically. Utilizing subliminal messages in music has not been studied long enough to determine their effectiveness, but should they prove to be effective, they can shave years off of your own personal change, whether you want more confidence, to lose weight, or to quit smoking.

Robert Watson is a certified hypnotherapist with the ABH and the NGH, and has worked with affirmations and subliminal messages for over ten years. Visit his Subliminal Messages website for more information about using affirmations and subliminal messages to help you lose weight, quit smoking, have a more positive outlook and more.

Customer Review: good but some disappointment
dance steps are fine and not too difficult but steps are done to a percussion beat rather than to tunes and real latin music. I really prefer music and so this doesn't feel like dancing, just exercising, and therefore isn't as much fun.
Customer Review: Not what I expected !!
I am a fan of salsa music and i thought that this dvd would be fun to try and put in a part of my work outs. The instructor was just wayyyy too much. too loud , too hyper. she came off very corny at times. lol. the video is just dumb. i dont know ,i just found her annoying. The music was good and all but i just cant take her. I dont do this video often. Once in a blue. It really wasnt as good as thought it was gonna be. i have other crunch video but come on now. they need better instructors.

In my book "Karaoke Krazy," I give advice on the many ways to be successful as a Karaoke DJ or "KJ." Here is an excerpt:

"Style"

If you are a KJ, your style is every bit as important as your reputation because it is PART of your reputation. It is what defines you.

There is a lot you can do to create a style of your own and it does not always involve how you speak on a microphone.
This section includes things about me, and things I have done to enhance my style.

You may get some ideas, or perhaps you have a style all of your own that you are happy with. Either way you might learn something.

"The Art of Illusion"

There is an art to creating an illusion in the room, one that will draw in and sustain a crowd. It is your job to provide an environment that did not exist prior to your arrival.
The way you dress, the music you play, and how well you work a room and motivate people, are integral parts of the whole. If you miss doing one of these things well, you may survive. However, if you miss more than one of these things, you may not.

What you wear sets the tone in the room. If you are in jeans and a T-shirt, your crowd will wear jeans and T-shirts too.
If you wear trendy clothes, tails, or pink gym shoes and a bow tie, you will set a better tone and people will respond to that. You will also inform people that you are an entertainer and they will prepare to be entertained.

My former manager, J.R., insisted that I always dress like a star. If I was getting off of a tour bus at a gas station, I was required to be picture perfect. His motto was, If you look like a star and act like a star, you are a star. He was right about this. People treat you like a star if you dress like one.
Obviously, if you are doing a private function you need to ask what the theme will be or what dress is required. You will look very out of place at a formal function if you are wearing a cowboy hat and jeans. Likewise, you will feel out of place if you are wearing tails and the guests are wearing cut-offs.

Another detail you might pay attention to is the lighting. I do not advise a lot of bright lights. The room needs ambiance and 'mood.' Bright lights make people want to hide.
Dimmed or diluted (ambient) lighting helps people to relax. It also makes people feel like they look younger (wrinkles are obscured) and this makes them feel better.
People who feel good about themselves are more likely to stick around all night.

Make sure all of the tables and chairs are neatly arranged. You may think this is not your job, and perhaps it isnt. But you want to do everything in your power to make the room as presentable and inviting as possible.

You will often see me pushing in bar stools. This is something J.R. taught me to do years ago. I detested doing it at first, but later I realized that an untidy room is a reflection on me.
Periodically during the evening, you should also help pick up empty beverage bottles and glasses. Not only does it look bad when these are sitting around, it slows the drinking process.
People are more likely to order another beverage if they are unaware of how many they have already consumed.

Remember that your job is to fill the cash drawer. This is why your club owner is having the promotion.
Do not worry if you are a KJ who goes solo and you are too busy to handle all of these extraneous jobs at once. You will gradually become comfortable and skilled enough to multi-task.

Regarding "in-between" music, keep the beats per minute above 120. Keeping the BPMs high will cause a subconscious assault on the central nervous system of your patrons, causing them to become more exited, more thirsty, and less bored.
To determine what the BPM's are in a particular song, use a stopwatch. Play the song and count the beats for one minute. If you count 112 BPMs, the song is no doubt a slow one.

If you can, flash the stage lights off and on during dance sets. This will produce another assault on the central nervous system.

If you happen to sustain a high level of BPMs with both in-between music and Karaoke songs, you may have to dump the dance floor.

Although it is rare (because there is almost always a barrage of slow Karaoke songs), there are times when you have an overly excited crowd. Good for you, you are doing your job!
However, it may become necessary to slow down, and calm down your patrons. Take the time to drop in a slow song and dump the fast dancers off of the dance floor. Fights can be avoided through use of this technique. People will also take this opportunity to order a drink.

Let me express that I am not advocating getting every individual in the bar as drunk as possible. However, there are reasons that your club owner owns this business, and you should know how to enhance it.

Coldplay - Parachutes (Pvg)

P/V/G arrangements for all 11 songs from the fantastic debut by this popular British band, a favorite of the critics. Includes their huge hit Yellow and: Don't Panic Everything's Not Lost High Speed Life Is for Living Parachutes Shiver Sparks Spies Trouble We Never Change.
Customer Review: Amazing Book
I look forward to going home every night (and probably much to my neighbors' and roommate's dismay) to try to play and sing at the same time. The music is for the piano to accompany the rest of the band, so it doesn't always carry the melody. But it's awesome and not too bad. The abundance of sharps and flats may scare some, such as me, but in the end the chords are not too difficult; there is a lot of repetition. This is my favorite album of Coldplay, so I am particularly fond of many of the songs. I hope this helps!
Customer Review: Good
I enjoy this one. I do like the sheet music of Rush of Blood better, but I adore "Trouble"

Customer Review: Evanescence Best Performer
in this CD i think that amy lee of evanescence sings very well... wow her voice it's wonderful!!!!! I think that bring me to life acoustic is the best track of this album.
Customer Review: Great Live Performances of Hits You've Heard on the Radio
This CD is put out by a radio station (Star 98.7 FM) in Los Angeles, and its original proceeds went to charity. The songs are "unplugged" versions of hits (and soon to be hits) by famous artists. The results vary widely. Evanescence is not nearly as good as the album version, and Liz Phair's stage fright makes her song painful at times. Matchbox 20, Jason Mraz, and Tori Amos all put in stellar performances that make this CD well worth its price.

Coldplay Eisley Red Rocks Original Concert Poster 2003

Original concert poster for Coldplay at Red Rocks in Morrison, CO. 11 x 17 on thin paper.

My significant other told me a year or so ago that he would like to take a cruise once in his lifetime. Neither of us had ever been on one and were unsure for how long, or to where we should go the first time. Since he was financing the trip, I let him make the decisions; other than whether I thought I would like anything longer than a few days to see whether I'd like it. We decided on a Royal Caribbean Enchantment of the Seas, 3 night, 4 day, Western Caribbean cruise leaving from Fort Lauderdale, Florida, with stops at Key West, Florida and Cozumel, Mexico.

Getting ready for boarding and actual boarding were quite an experience in themselves, mostly involving waiting in line, and showing our passports and identification. Once we got on board, it was a four hour wait for our luggage to arrive at our stateroom. We had a reasonably nice stateroom, although the tiny shower and bathroom took some getting used to, as were the excessive prices for a bottle of water or a can of soda. Once we had checked into our room, we were invited to partake of the Windjammer Cafe's wide selection of buffet-style foods of every type. This cafe was one of the highlights of the trip, the food selection varied throughout the day from breakfast to supper, with something always available to whet the appetite.

On board the ship were various forms of entertainment including music, shopping, spas, live lounge shows, casino, colorful drinks, and pools for either swimming or sunbathing, to name a few. Much of what was offered was not to our taste; although we enjoyed the Windjammer, the live music and dance/singing shows at the Orpheum Theater, the more formal sit down dinners in the evening, and the site seeing on the ship.

We were happy that we decided to take this one cruise, just to see what it would be like, but I seriously doubt we will ever take another. It was an exciting experience, but a rather expensive one for something we were not totally thrilled with. We took advantage of the over-abundance of good food, a drink or two, listened to some good music, and saw some beautiful sites, but I think it was a once in a lifetime experience for both of us.

I work from home. For more information, click here:
